Bob Dylan wrote "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" in 1967 whilst recovering from a motorcycle accident, and in the seventies it appeared on his "Basement Tapes" album. But the first release of the song was by The Byrds. Another Dylan version appeared in Volume II of his Greatest hits in 1971, and it has also been recorded by Joan Baez, amongst others.
